Embroidery / Crewel Needles by John James

Hand embroidery needles are sometimes referred to as crewel needles. The larger sizes are ideal when embroidering on heavy fabric with twisted yarn. As well as crewel needlework, the popular smaller sizes can also be used in general sewing because of their larger eyes than that of the sharp needles.

Embroidery or crewel needles have a long eye which makes threading the needle so much easier when using multiple strands of thread. The most popular sizes used in embroidery are size 7 and 8.

Each glass vial with contains three needles and is labeled with the type and size.
