Inspiration and Goodies from the International Quilt Market in Houston

The ladies are back from Houston and have they brought a load of inspiration, new fabrics, and enthusiasm. The International Quilt Market in Houston Texas is one of the largest showcases for new fabric, patterns and notions for the sewing industry. Sadly, I didn’t go this year because of Cooper but I got lots of pictures and a mound of paperwork and books to go through. All in an effort to keep up to date with the most fabulous fabric and get creative with new designs to bring to you! Not many words are necessary – just sit back and enjoy the fun!

Looking down on the show floor - miles and miles of new fabric and products!

Hundreds of ladies lined up for sample spree - a two hour event in which everyone races to buy pieces of the newest collections that won't even ship until January.

Michael Miller's booth - they won first prize for booth design this year. Really focusing on bringing out Blue and White combinations.

Wee Wander is a line of fabric from Michael Miller. Really fun prints that remind us all of being a kid, chasing fireflies, horses, and playing in the great outdoors.

Two great pieces of cotton lawn fabric (the texture is like butter!) - they would be great for infinity scarves.

Some absolutely gorgeous Liberty of London prints!

These guys (Premier Prints) are quickly becoming a favorite fabric line. The fabric is not only made and printed in the US but it is American grown cotton! I'm loving the teal and navy nautical grouping above, right now it is only being printed on outdoor fabric but I am trying to convince them it would be wonderful on traditional cotton as well. That way we can incorporate it more in our line. That is the beauty of working with small businesses - you can talk directly to the owners and decision makers.

More from Premier Prints - Ikat Polka Dots! Two of my favorite things combined.

Some new pink options in Organic fabric - something we definitely need!

Tula Pink and her new line - she is the designer of one of our most popular fabric collections (the octopus and shells)

The ever popular Amy Butler with her new fabric line.

Our quilting guru Elva with her quilting idol Kaffe Fassett!

A new fabric company by the name of Frond Designs - really wonderful bold bright colors. They look more like art you should hang on your walls. Just stunning pieces.

And finally Art Gallery's booth. We will have a new line utilizing their fabrics out soon. You cannot believe how soft this cotton is. Almost like cotton lawn but not as delicate - the perfect mix of luxury and usability!
